[hello stranger]
i received a message from a certain someone yesterday. a friend? maybe, at least we were in the past. then things grew strange because of a certain turn of events. perhaps now, or up till recently, he is/was a 'strange' acquaintance. whenever he did drop me a message, i'd react to it with, well, strangeness. i'd feel uncomfortable. the memories would all flood back, and i would just be awkward.
but yesterday, i received the message with a smile, maybe a pleasant surprise. there was a slight sort of yearning in me to want to be friends again. i'm not sure if i could ever ignore what happened, but perhaps i should forgive, and forget. after all, it was more than a year ago since, and things don't matter anymore. perhaps.
i think at some point in our lives, something like that happens to everyone. and, i think, its difficult to get over it. maybe its embarrassment, or anger, but in time, does it matter what happened? especially when there was no intention to harm. why does the negative always overwhelm the good times, so much so that you forget about those happy instances? shouldn't we hang on to the good times rather than the bad ones? makes life a lot easier, and a lot happier.
its hard to find someone you can talk to, its easy to lose that same someone too. very often, when couples break up, either or both parties only recall the reason why they broke up. but its sad, isn't it. especially when just recently you were swooning about him/her. there should have been that certain spark, but its so easily forgotten when things go wrong.
maybe its about time to forgive, and forget.
